Frank C.Ball, (1881-1948), Springfield
Emigrated from Abbotsford, Quebec where he studiedviolin making under John Branford. Worked for Boston violin makers Walter Solon Goss, andO.H. Bryant before moving to Springfield. Began working as a die maker for Smith andWesson in 1918. Made Violins during teens through the late 40's in the upstairs workshopof his house (He called it his sanctum sanctorium.)
