Edward E.Coleman, (1842-1917), Easthampton.

           Born in Windsor MA. Skilled toolmaker. Worked in Leeds, MA for Mill River ButtonCo. 1884-1887. Moved to Easthampton in 1888 and began work for Williston & Knightbutton Co. in Easthampton. Avocation as clock and violin maker. Used beautifully figuredAmerican wood.  Did not number instruments.Examples seen are all “Stradivarius Model”. Printed label. Used guitar style neck mortise.
